About Wee Espree
In a Wee Espree class, we are committed to using Bible and folk songs as well as movement and stories to teach and reinforce musical concepts. Skills such as beat and melody as well as dynamics, articulation and listening skills will be introduced and reinforced with engaging musical activities. Your child will have the opportunity to explore music in a variety of settings: from singing and movement to listening and playing instruments. Each class begins and ends in prayer, and incorporates a Biblical concept throughout. Your child will be engaging in developmentally and age appropriate activities designed to provide lots of opportunities for musical success. In addition, the musical experiences your child has with Wee Espree will set the groundwork for future success in reading, math, and social skills.

Anne Degenhart
About Anne Degenhart
Anne Degenhart (anne@wee-espree.com) has been teaching music to children for over 10 years. Music has been a part of Anne’s life from an early age, starting with piano and French horn lessons and later guitar and choral singing. She attended Bradley University where she earned a degree in vocal performance, then continued her education at Illinois State University where she received a master’s degree in music education. She’s enjoyed performing in various musicals in the area, singing in various collegiate choirs, and working with children and music both in school settings as well as through Kindermusik.
A native of Peoria, Illinois, she grew up in St. Mark’s Catholic Church which laid the foundation for her love of Jesus as well as sharing music with children. She and her family later attended Grace Presbyterian Church. The Degenharts now attend Grace Church in Morton, Il, where her husband Shawn serves as the music director.
Anne has always had a love for teaching children of all ages, both in classrooms and in her private music studio. She’s passionate about sharing her love of Christ with young people, and feels that music is a perfect way to communicate God’s love. Psalm 119 proclaims that “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Learning God’s word through music is a wonderfully effective way to store up his word in our hearts! The Bible is filled with exhortations to “praise the LORD and make music to (his) name” Psalm 92? And that’s what we do!
