Scores of Benefits
The benefits of music study are abundant!
Research proves that music—as the only activity that stimulates every area of the brain simultaneously—is the best activity for nurturing every area of a child's development.
Music students statistically have higher levels of success in many areas of their lives, both in school and in social interactions. There’s nothing like it!
Benefits in School
"By introducing children to music, so many areas of the brain benefit at the same time, like the mathematical and language centers. It's really a super-advantage." (Patricia DeCorsey, coordinator of Lawrence University's Early Childhood Music Program)
Studies show that students involved in music score consistently higher in areas of language and math than students with no such musical background. What a great way to give your kids a head start - its super!
Benefits in Society
“Every human culture uses music to carry forward its ideas and ideals.”(MENC - The National Association for Music Education "Benefits of Music Education" Brochure, Spring 2002)
This is a benefit not only for preserving our distinctive American heritage, but as a Christian parent, music is an invaluable tool for communicating God’s love and His plan.
